We need those cops here in the UK. Our police force is way too soft.

The guy was a total wanker, and got what he deserved. There's a difference in freedom of speech and yelling at the top of your lungs at an organized Q&A. All he had to do was stop when asked, but he decides to keep yelling. Two cops try to escort him out peaceably, and he breaks away. A third cop joins to help and he still resists. He had plenty of chances to stop being an ass before getting tased.

"...It's a shame that they had to taze the guy, but he had a chance to calm down and didn't take it. He probably didn't pose a physical threat to anybody in the room, but someone can't just hijack the floor of a forum like that and expect not to get kicked out..."
"..He's just an obnoxious guy who had a fit when there wasn't time for his questions and refused to be calm even when he was given the chance to speak. He was looking for trouble, and everyone applauded when he was forced to leave..."
It is not a good reason to taze someone, surrounded by X cops, just because the person wants to speak...even loudly. The guy wasnt threatening or trying to fight the cops. He wanted to speak....
It was not necessary to use such a barbarian weapon to kick him out.
Now the students are warned if you dont listen to ORDERS......you will be tazed
Crazy world.

Good old U.S. of A.
In many parts of the world the guy would have been beaten, thrown in a dark hole and probably beaten again several times. The film would have been destroyed on the spot and the camera man would have probably joined the guy causing the disturbance.

Lets keep in mind that the guy did the following things:
A. Grabbed the Mic from someone else when it wasn't his turn to speak.
B. Starting yelling at Kerry, and not lettimng anyone else speak.
C. Started to make a scene, (as found out later, he did this on purpose. He admitted it was all a ruse to get him self tazered.)
D. When asked nicly by the officers to step down, and leave, he refused.
E. When officers used force to vacate him from the gathering, he resisted.
F. When more officers started to drag him out of there, while he was still resisting, he gave them what they wanted to hear. "Alright alright, i'll leave." Then when the officers LET GO OF HIM HE RAN TOWARDS KERRY. (Which anyone will tell you is a big no-no.)
G. When officers cought him again, he still resisted.
H. Officers WARNED HIM SEVERAL TIMES to calm down, or be tazed.
I. Still resisted, then got tazed, and made an even bigger specictal out of it.
J. Later remarked in the police car, "I don't blame you guys for tazing me, it's your job. " etc etc etc. He was laughing afterwards.
K. Posted on his site the EDITED video of him being tazed so that people would feel sorry for him.
There you have it folks. The taze wasn't about him using his first admendment free speech, it was his resistment of arrest.
